چکیده

Daily levels of urinary colony-stimulating in the neutropenic period antecedent to factor (CSF) were measured in two pathe periodic reticulocytosis. These studies tients with cyclic neutropenia. The CSF are compatible with a negative feedback levels increased during the neutropenic system regulating both granulocytopoiesis period concomitant with the maximum and erythropoiesis. Whether the cyclic flucperipheral monocytosis. Simultaneous tuations of these substances are causally erythropoietmn ( ESF) levels were measured related to the cyclic marrow proliferation in one of these patients. ESF also increased is uncertain.

Colony-stimulating factor in patients with chronic neutropenia.

Urinary and serum colony-stimulating factor (CSF) levels were measured in 11 patients with chronic idiopathic neutropenia without infections and in 10 normal individuals. Urinary CSF output was determined using mouse marrow target cells, and serum CSF activity was assayed with human marrow target cells by the double agar layer technique. Using these methods, there was no significant difference ...

Increases in neutrophil counts by purified human urinary colony-stimulating factor in chronic neutropenia of childhood.

Clinical effects of purified human urinary colony-stimulating factor (CSFHU) were studied in nine patients with chronic neutropenia of childhood who ranged in age from 1 to 18 years. The patients were given CSFHU at a dose of 6 x 10(6) U/m2/d for seven consecutive days, and their peripheral neutrophil counts were serially followed for 6 to 12 months. In addition, changes in bone marrow morpholo...

Hematopoietic progenitors in cyclic neutropenia: effect of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor in vivo.

The number and growth factor requirements of committed progenitor cells (colony-forming units-granulocyte/macrophage and burst-forming units-erythroid) in three patients with cyclic neutropenia (two congenital, one acquired) were studied before and during therapy with recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF; 3 to 10 micrograms/kg/d). When the patients with congenital dise...

Clostridium septicum myonecrosis in congenital neutropenia.

Severe congenital neutropenia (SCN) and Clostridium septicum myonecrosis is an uncommon and life-threatening association requiring urgent combined aggressive medical and surgical management. We report 2 cases of SCN (1 with known Kostmann's syndrome and 1 not known at presentation to have a congenital neutropenic disorder but subsequently received a diagnosis of cyclic neutropenia) who presente...

Abnormal Responses of Myeloid Progenitor Cells to Granulocyte - Macrophage Colony - stimulating Factor in Human Cyclic

Granulocyte-macrophage progenitors (CFU-GM) from four patients with childhood onset cyclic neutropenia demonstrated abnormal in vitro proliferative responses to purified, recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (rhGM-CSF) when examined in detailed dose-response studies. Marrow aspirate specimens were obtained for these studies from cyclic neutropenia patients (both du...
